"I have this CD and I believe this is one of his best work ever. I first heard the song at a concert and took the next day off from work to go and buy the CD. I also love Play Meh Music, Tanty S Secrete and Ram Goat Advice. The singer knows how to use the right words and can rhyme too! This is what make his music interesting. I don't care about the beat and like the lyrics!"

Current, and topical, The Mighty Sparrow

"The Mighty Sparrow has "matured" as a Calypsonian, and has stayed current with the times. "Doh Stop De Carnival" (as my copy is entitled, has a humerous (nay, hilarious) satiric account of Bill Clinton and his affair with Monica. It also criticizes (satirically) the politics of Congress at the time, and Bill Clinton's popularity. The other tunes are Calypso tunes (SoCa beat), which are also enjoyable to someone who enjoys that genre of music (I have most of "Birdie's" music, dating back to the '60's). Other of Sparrow's music makes fun/protest of other topical issues occurring in the West Indies (Trinidad) as well as in the USA. He is a former Calypso champion who remains so."
