Do I really have to introduce the Mighty Diamonds to anyone here? Their sweet and soulful harmonies made them one of the most popular vocal harmony trios of the 70s and 80s, and their unique rockers sound continues to impress audiences all around the world today. Their Motown sound gives them a totally unique flavour from anything else that came out of Jamaica at that time.
The fabulous `Get Ready' has to be one of their greatest albums and was produced by Gussie Clarke, who was without a doubt the hottest producer in Jamaica at that time. Clarke layered their sweet harmonies on top of catchy dancehall beats, to create unique and original tunes.
The album `Get Ready' contains the outstanding tracks `I'm gonna take it east', `Upfront' and `Idlers Corner' which features the legendary voice of Gregory Isacs. And if that isn't enough, two previously unreleased tunes have been added to the already outstanding album... and believe me, you MUST hear these track, it is a crime they weren't released earlier!
