CD Reviews

Reflections on Italy

"I discovered this wonderful artist while in Italy driving along the highway looking at the gorgeous Italian countryside. When I first heard Michele Zarillo - I was instantly hooked. His voice draws you in and the music is mellow and romantic. Even more amazing is that "all" the songs are great. Oftentimes, there is only 1 or 2 songs you like. I'm so thrilled with this CD I'm going to buy more Zarillo CD's because (reading the online reviews for them) another reviewer says that very same thing: that all the tracks are wonderful. Treat yourself to a taste of beautiful Italy. I love to visit Italy & Michele Zarillo's music always takes me back. Even if you don't speak Italian (like me) this CD is enchanting."
Italian not required to love this CD

"Last month I spent a week in San Francisco sipping latte from a bowl at Cafe Presse just off Market on Grant. Found Ruffino's, a great bookstore not far from the cafe, and heard this CD in the store. After wandering around to hear "just one more cut" (thank goodness I was alone!), I climbed three flights of stairs to the music department to buy this CD. Its so good. I don't speak a word of Italian, but the words aren't necessary. Something within the music and this man's voice transends the outer senses and inner hearing comprehends. I wish I had bought all his CD's there, since I saw three or four others."
Italian Music At Its Best

"Since my first trip to Italy in 1974, I've been listening to Claudio Baglione, Riccardo Cocciante, and more recently, Antonello Venditti. Only last year, while listenening to the radio on a sun-drenched beach in San Vito, did I discover Michele Zarrillo. His love songs and passionate voice reflect the Italy that is romanticised to the world. His voice and style are similiar to Baglione, Cocciante, and Venditti: this is a must buy!"
