This is Michel with his original trio and all the compositions are Michel's.

The energy and synergy of these musicians as they move from jazz to flamenco to blues and back again make for some great listening!

"For those who don't understand what all the fuss was about the Michel Camilo Trio's work in the early to mid-'80s, this is a marvelous find. The album is one mean smoking session, as the Dominican pianist blows through nine original and standard tunes with cohorts Anthony Jackson and Dave Weckl on 6-string contrabass guitar and drums respectively. The reworking of Duke's "Caravan" is pure genius, while "From Within" burns. Highly recommended to lovers of both jazz and Latin music."
