CD Reviews

Great over looked album
Christopher T. Sommer | Philadelphia, PA | 01/23/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I can?t believe that no one has yet to review this excellent album. Anyone that is familiar with Scientist Rids the World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires will instantly be familiar with the beats from a few of the songs on this album. "You Are a No Good" ("Dance of the Vampires"), "Hold on to What You Got" ("Cry of the Werewolf"), and "Love and Unity" ("Your Teeth in My Neck"). If you love Scientists? Song ?your teeth in My Neck you will enjoy Michale Prophet?s Love and Unity which is very, very simular but with even better. This in large part because Gunman was recorded at channel one music studio and produced by Scientist. Pick up this rare import album while you still can without specially ordering it from the UK."
A frequently overlooked classic

"A yo, I have the vinyl of this and it was good but not GREAT. Well I bought this album anyways on cd and the quality is EXCELLENT which made the tunes sound superb and I can't get enough of this album. I love the songs "Youthman", "turn the round", and "gunman" being a given. I was especially taken away with the 12 inch tunes at the end. I'd never heard them before and thought they might be just tack-on's to make this album longer but the feel is strictly roots and foundation. Plus superb production by Junjo Lawes! All in all, this album is a classic that must be in any reggae fans collection, let alone fans of early dancehall's collection. Pick it up today!"
