Six original songs co-written by Browne and B. Markus are played mostly solo on various guitars and banjos. Other material reinvents some old genres: swing, with an Irving Berlin tune and another tune from Dinah Washington's repertoire; modern country (a George Jones hit from the late seventies) and R&B with songs from Al Green, Sam Cooke and Stevie Wonder.
