"I am a recent fan of Mike's electric blues playing, but this CD seems to be a collection of mainly 3rd rate acoustic material that would probably suit completists or be at home in a box set. All the hype about this disc seems way over the top when you actually listen to the music and I believe does not do the memory of Mike Bloomfield justice. I used to be a bit of a completist myself, but I now subscribe to the quality rather than quantity theory."

"Buyers of Mike Bloomfield's late 1970s LPs (and surely there were not many of us) will welcome this collection by Norman Dayron. Those who are new to Bloomfield's career may be surprised by the raunchy or boozy humor found in some of the songs, but the music is soulful, honest, and well-played. There is an emotion and depth to Bloomfield's playing that goes far beyond his "Super Session," "Highway 61," and Electric Flag outings. Why doesn't someone issue all his later albums on CDs?"
