A Classic Christmas is a special collection of music inspired by memories of Christmas past. The selections I chose to arrange for this recording represent the music that most readily comes to mind when I think about Christmas. I found myself drawn to the pieces that had both some classical elements and some emotional content that related to my own feelings about Christmas. Although not exactly a Christmas carol, I just had to include Linus and Lucy, from A Charlie Brown Christmas , since nothing better captures the childhood exuberance of Christmas than the scene of the Peanuts gang dancing around the piano in the middle of rehearsing their Christmas play. For the most part, I have tried to make the arrangements peaceful and elegant, never opting for complexity when simplicity seemed to convey the proper mood. I hope you will enjoy these pieces as a part of your Christmas celebration for many years to come. Thanks for listening.
