Synopsis

Product Description
The Miami Saxophone Quartet takes great pleasure in presenting MIDNIGHT RUMBA, our third CD recording. Once again the contents reflect the eclectic nature of the group, featuring music inspired by the cultures of Cuba, Spain, and Argentina, as well as elements of Classic Jazz, American Folk, and Tin Pan Alley. We are also fortunate and proud to feature the contributions of special guests Arturo Sandoval and Jon Secada. Jon sings Ed Calle's unique arrangement of his hit "Angel" and Arturo Joins us on "Angel," "A Night In Tunisia,? and "Early Autumn." Also featured are past contributor bassist Chuck Bergeron, electric bassist Javier Carrion, and our all-star Latin percussion section of Richard Bravo, Lee Levin, and Luis Gonzales. This collection marks the debut of Ed Calle as a composer for the quartet, who gives us the title cut Midnight Rumba, part of his original work The Iberia Suite. Gary Lindsay brings us arrangements of A Night In Tunisia, Con Alma, and James Taylor?s Benjamin, and New York based trombonist/vocalist Peter McGuiness contributes his take on Kurt Weill?s My Ship. Finally a piece by the master of the Tango, Astor Piazzolla. We hope you enjoy our latest effort! Gary, Gary, Ed, and Mike
