"I've got a dozen or so Morricone albums/compilations, and this is definitely my favourite. It's rare to get a soundtrack that works as whole album but this does, with a melancholy refrain that seems to provide a fitting end. I don't know anything about the movie, but there's something incredibly sad about this music, some desperate, tragic feeling of lives and loves lost. Typical Morricone sound with small band, double bass, drums and guitar, with a featured trumpet providing the melody. I notice this is an import on Amazon as well, at a cheaper price, so I suppose that's a better deal. I'm reviewing this from my vinyl copy, and can only wonder how good a CD would sound through a modern stereo. My only problem is that it is just too short. But if you like Morricone, then this should be near the top of your list to buy."
