Synopsis

Album Description
The one-man multi-tasking musical machine known to his Mom as Lee Norris has found a hidden treasure: a new Metamatics album made before From Death To Passwords When You Are A Paper Aeroplane. Previously released only in Scandanavia and limited to 200 copies Mind Mushing Git (Midnight Sun Pig) is now being given a proper release! If you?ve been following along the last couple years, Metamatics is but one of Lee Norris?s musical monikers, also working under the guises of Norken and Nacht Plank. Presently hard at work on an all-new Metamatics album, Lee was surprised to find this album on his computer which never received a proper release and denying most of us the aural pleasure which is Mind Mushing Git (Midnight Sun Pig). Mind Mushing Git (Midnight Sun Pig), more than any other Lee Norris project, strikes a balance between is all three of his guises, with the result is possibly the best Metamatics album to date. Evoking the ghosts of classic ?Artificial Intelligence? era IDM circa 1993 ? Plaid, B12, Autechre, Beaumont Hannant - It encompasses the deep Detroit lushness of Norken with the off kilter melodies of Metamatics and the sweet ambient lullabies of Nacht Plank. Mind Mushing Git (Midnight Sun Pig) stimulates and relaxes the mind all at the same time.

CD Reviews

Lee norris is a nice man

(5 out of 5 stars)

"thankyou lee. you have made me happy. out of all the metamatics releases this one strikes my happiest balance between melody and riddim. this is spanking new and fresh sounding despite being created before 'from death to passwords' and is much more inviting and less of a stretch for the listener... it has really really good drum machine programming, solid and exciting basslines, lovely crisp and deep sounding production, and some of the floatiest, warmest melodies and sounds ever to grace an electronica cd. for those of you who don't know, this music was made entirely by lee norris at his manor house in the countryside of devon which is a county in england - a beautiful place which i feel has clearly been an influence in lee's work.
playful and light while being warm and open and mellow,
flowing yet tightly controlled,
evocative of early and mid 90's techno while still feeding my ear's need for freshness... i love it all!
thankyou lee you are a good mate even if i never met you.
cheers!"
