CD Reviews

This is (was) a great band!

"okay for those who are or were into black metal must of known about Master's Hammer.
These brothers were from the czech republic i think. anyway, this album is opera/black metal.
another reviewer for the "ritual/Jelemnice Occultist" cd review said that Jelemnice is actually their second album.
I actually thought this was their first album. I'm surprised by this but back in the early 90's, the distribution for most of these bands were horrible, plus everything was done by snail mail (postal). You could actually get an album that may be brand new here in the states but could be 2 years old by the bands standards.
well, if you can imagine an opera show with religous, occult themes to it, master's hammer would be the symphony. I mean alot of black metal bands try to do the keyboard/symphony thing which fails in comparison to master's hammer-dude.
this album is that good. it's great. i'm in love with it. i hope this review helps."

"Master's Hammer (along with Root) was probably the greatest symphonic black/death/thrash metal band of all time and this was their finest hour. J.O. is a unique blend of black and death metal condensed with classical overtones and the result is amazing. Even though it's highly melodic it is still dark and sinister not to mention it will have you headbanging like no tomorrow. This is fine masterpiece of work which sadly goes unnoticed in today's [...] metal scene and it's far and beyond your typical trendy poser Norse or British BM band with cheesy keyboards and dumb make-up. Mendatory!"
