I didn't even know this existed until I went to the Mastodon concert on 09/29/06 at the Fonda Theatre in LA. While waiting for the band to set up, this wonderful string rendition of Leviathan began to play over the PA. I think there were many there (including myself) wondering in amazement of what this could be? Mastodon's Leviathan album is a phenomenal work of art (not just for metal, but for the music world as a whole). What the Taste of Chaos Ensemble has done with such a great concept album seems like such a natural progression...this tribute was meant to be! I can easily see this music playing as the soundtrack to an updated Moby Dick movie...while the waves pound the bow of the great, old whaling ship fast on the trail of that prehistoric white whale!
