Synopsis

Product Description
Mass Fiction is a group of classically trained power-pop virtuosos creating a heady mix of Bends-era Radiohead, Guns N Roses, the smart piano-driven pop of Tori Amos and Fiona Apple, and all the Queen money can buy. Genre is 41 minutes of power-pop bliss, ranging from the bouncy strut of songs like 'Bad Form' and 'Bubbles' to the art-damaged grace of 'Sing to Dream' and 'Nocturne (Who's There)'. Mass Fiction is fundamentally a pop band, but one absolutely awash in contradictions. They take their virtuoso chops and use them to craft lovely and unpretentious pop gems but they have the compositional freedom and technical ability to make musical left-turns that would leave most bands grasping for air. They revel in rock and roll debauchery but regularly host events to benefit early childhood education. They re just as likely to write a song about partying or the girl that got away as they are about beautiful cannibals and Faulknerian word play. This is a band who understands that, if your primary goal is to make everyone listening sing and dance, you can fill your songs with all the complex musicality and thought-provoking lyricism you want. But, most importantly, this is a band for every person who thinks that, even though they may be loathe to admit it at times, there is no higher calling in this world than creating kick-ass pop-rock songs. Think about it. If for only one gin-soaked moment, you tipped your cup to the sky, singing along to a pop song like your life depended on it, and you thought to yourself, This is what it's all about man, then my friend you're in luck because this is the band for you.
