Extremely good soundtrack for a FPS, not near as good as the

"Well, I own pretty much every final fantasy soundtrack that exists currently (including 12 limited edition). I also have Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross as well as a number of other ones too. Being no stranger to gaming music, I found this one OK but not fantastic by any means. This game's music almost totally abandons that of the original Final Fantasy VII music, only retaining the "marching" feel that FFVII has in many of the soundtracks. Some change is good, but this music does loose the feel of the original FF7 game though.

There are some positives of this music though, which is why I rated it a 4. This music, as you play the game, does mesh in quite well in the general theme of the game. A lot of the music is more mysterious and march like, kinda the feel of the army-fighting-way that the main game has. This music does sound good though, especially the last two tracks but as like the game, it's an almost total departure from the original game.

As far as the collector's edition vs the normal. In my opinion, if you plan to buy the game and the single then this boxed set is a pretty good idea too if you want everything together and actually have it for collecting. On the other hand, if you're like me and buy it for just a collector item and don't buy the game or the single then much of this kinda feels like a waste of money. When I bought this, I thought of a foldout case like the FFXII collector edition, where you could put the cerberus DVD and the single in. It's not quite like that..instead it's designed so the cases of each of the other items will fit in the boxed set. I didn't like that idea much, but meh."
Totally Awesome

"As my daughter put it when she opened it -- "OMG, this is totally awesome, the Vincentness!""
