CD Reviews

Upbeat tunes from Marty
Hennie Korf | IJsselstein, ut Netherlands | 06/17/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"You will hear fine upbeat tunes. Relaxing indeed, but it is NOT what you might think: quiet tone paintings made for therapeutical purposes. This is haunting piano playing from a man with a beautiful touch. You will also hear Larry Bunker on vibes(when he is, who is the drummer?)and Joe Mondragon on bass and even a guitar on some tracks (not listed, but I opt for Howard Roberts). Brightly recorded. To be recommended."
West coast jazz at it's finest
Richard J. Renga | apache junction az | 11/04/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Marty Paich again proves he belongs with the great West Coast Jazz arraingers such as Shorty Rogers And Gerry Mulligan. From Bobby Haggart's "What's New" to Basie's "Jump for Me", it shows after 50 years, that great arrainging is timeless"
Can't go wrong with Marty! (but points off for the packaging
Robert Lett | Richmond, Va United States | 11/28/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is real classy stuff,Marty Paich is one the unsung heroes of jazz. And the cover is a cheescake classic, which doesn't hurt eighter.

The lack of a 5th star is for the skimpy, lousy, CHEAP bare bones packaging and liners."
