"This is Marty's first full length studio recording, exclusively for cd release. The musicians spent four days in 1988 at the studio to nail this one and nail it they did. The soloists are all tremendous and memorable. They include Peter Ecklund on trumpet, Dan Barrett on trombone, Bobby Gordon on clarinet, Loren Schoenberg on tenor sax, Keith Ingham on piano, Murray Wall on bass, Hal Smith on drums and Marty on guitar. Peter Ecklund's hot trumpet is a real standout although it is the arrangements that really make this recording exceptional. Most of the tunes are from popular songs of the 1930's and a couple from the 20's. They're played with a strong and steady swing that is a toe tapper's delight. It's a fresh and appealing approach to yesterday's music and coupled with a little humour it's a sure cure for what ails you.

There is something special about Marty Grosz and his recordings. I've heard just about all of them and own most of them. There isn't a let down in the bunch. This is a great one. I've had it for well over a decade and still reach for it often. Buy it. You'll love it."
