Synopsis

Product Description
This CD is comprised of rhythms using traditional African drums from Mali, Guinea and Uganda. All tracks are percussion based. Instruments include: djembes, dununs, Krin, Kalimba, Mbutus, Mpunyes, Nankasas, etc. Music plays an important role in healing, it allows our spirit to move into the spirit world for healing to occur. Sound waves are vehicles of energy that are capable of carrying more than just sound. We can infuse sound with our intentions of gratitude, compassion, forgiveness, humility and unconditional love. These are powerful tools of healing that can transform. As spiritual beings, we have the ability to access multidimensional time and space. With pure intentions we can use time to help us in our quest for healing. A key to the door of multidimensional time is the drum and we can use the drum to access universal time. The intention of this CD is to create an opening (portal) into other worlds with the intention of unconditional love, forgiveness, peace and humility for all beings. Special thanks to The Big Spirit, The Masters, Pedro and the tribe for their unconditional love and support in teaching me about service, humility, compassion, forgiveness, gratitude, detachment, love, life and death. You may find this listening experience unique, in that you may be more of a participant than observer. Sixteen Tracks, 68 minutes Martin Klabunde is an initiated Nahual, whose mission is to provide a path of awakening through music and self-less service to others, with over 20 years of teaching, performance, and class and workshop facilitation experience. He has studied the native music of East and West Africa with initiated drum masters, and participated in traditional rites of passage, healing ceremonies and shamanic rituals in both Africa and Mexico. His passion is how music is used in ceremony and ritual, and in the indigenous education of young people. He is devoted to revealing a path of awakening through music and service to others. Martin is a Certified Professor for Mamady Keita's Tam Tam Mandengue International School of the Djembe, and an advanced student of a master healer from Mexico, who has taught Martin the ancient rites of Portal Drumming and Healing Ceremonies. He is the director of The Dambe Project, a Tucson-based non-profit organization that specializes in youth mentorship and utilizes West African performance art and the founder of Collective Awakening, an organization committed to providing pathways for spiritual awakening to all peoples. Martin lives in Tucson, Arizona and travels internationally, studying and creating music, teaching and facilitating classes and workshops, and giving performances.
