On the back insert it says "Stomp Your Feet To A Hillbilly Band". Call the Marshall Tucker Band what you will. Hillbilly or whatever, this was a helluva band!
If you like their classics like "Can't You See" and "Heard It In A Love Song" you will be very happy listening to the entire cd.
"Fire On The Mountain" and "Hillbilly Band" made their impression, but I was impressed with all of the songs! For the country-rock genre, these guys were THE STANDARD for a lot of fans and their music still lives on with "Country Tucker". It just may be the best cd of the Marshall Tucker Band.

CD Reviews

Great example of 70s country

"I'm not much of a fan of country music, I'll admit, but this CD is fantastic. Songs like "Heard it in a Love Song," "Can't You See," and (my favorite) "See You Later, I'm Gone" are worthy of multiple listens. The sound, the lyrics and the vocals are all evocative of a simpler time. If it's a warm summer evening, and you have some friends over, a barbecue cooking and a cold beer in your hand, this is the album you want playing in the background."
Marshall Tucker Band..... Still going strong all these years

"Marshall Tucker Band has perserveredsince coming outta tha Carolina's and went through alot of disasters and this is one of the best Southern Country\Rock groups that was set aside by its distinct sound like the flute(Played by Jerry Eubanks). Being 14 this CD applies to teens as well as adults who were MTB fans from the start. All the songs on this album like Heard it in a Love Song shows Toy Caldwell's(Original MTB member) writing ability except an MTB great Fire on a Mountain written by George McCorkle. This Album has went Platinum since its release now ask yourself "Why Don't I Own This CD"?"
