Synopsis

Product Description
When is comes to the term "Longevity," no one defines that better than Marques Houston (formerly known as "Batman"). The twenty-nine year old singer who now has twenty years in the entertainment industry under his belt, is ready to release his fifth solo effort, Mattress Music. This new album will define Marques Houston as a force in this industry that is here to stay. "I think the title Mattress Music speaks for itself," Houston said. "Naked was a phenomenal album, I think one of my best... But I don?t fear trying to top that album with this one." We can clearly see this album is all about serenading, with tracks like "Swag Sex", "Pullin? On Ya Hair", "Noize" and "Made a Mess". When asked which one of these is Houston?s favorite, he responded with the following: "I love them all", "But if I had to choose, I would chose Noize. There is just something about that song that gets me. Maybe because the title of the album is Mattress Music and the song has the squeaky mattress sound in it, I don?t know", Houston laughs. "And of course I also love the first single Kickin And Screamin." "I think as an artist, with every album you make it?s all about what kind of mood you?re in at the time. And with this album I was in a sexual, passionate mood. I?m a very passionate man, so it?s only natural that my music have a lot of passion as well", Houston expresses. "I feel like music with no passion is like a guitar with no strings, a piano with no keys, or a human being with no soul, there?s just no point." Right now, as one of the few Pop/R&B artists able to boast decade-spanning longevity, he?s turning over Mattress Music with just a 3-man producing/writing crew for the entire album; Houston, Eric Cire and Chris Stokes. "Yep. Only three writers on the whole project", he explains. "I really like team production. For example; Michael and Quincy, Usher, Jermaine Dupri and B Cox, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Danja, Janet Jackson, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. I believe if you really want that consistent sound, and you find that team that can work along with you to give you that, why go anywhere else. It?s the recipe for success. And hey, it worked for all the artist I just named, so hopefully it will work for me." He laughs. "I wanted to really just get back to where I was comfortable. And that?s making sexy music. And when it comes to Mattress Music all I can say is, "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!"
