"This recording was originally issued on Marian's Halcyon label. The reissue includes two extra tracks, both of which are worth hearing. "All the Things You Are" features Marian's J.S. Bach-influenced beginning and ending that she often plays in concert (and on "Gone with the Wind," too), and it's the only recorded version that I know about. "Skylark" shows Marian at her best as a ballad player. The disk includes her best version of "Like Someone in Love" (also heard on the import "At the London House" disk and on "Live at Yoshi's Nitespot"). The remaining repertoire is typically adventurous: Chick Corea's "Crystal Silence," John Coltrane's "Giant Steps" and her own "A Delicate Balance." Be aware that there is an audible flaw in the master on "Crystal Silence" (at least on my copy) and that each track fades at the end, which somewhat compromises the sense that you are listening to a live recording. In short, this is probably among the second tier of McPartland's recordings, but it's the one I pull off the shelf when I want to hear "Like Someone in Love" and "All the Things You Are.""
