"I wrote another review of Maria's latest CD "The Way We Live" which is also excellent (someone send them an album image for it)! "Follow Your Own Road" was the first of Maria Sangiolo's CD's that I got, and it inspired me to track down all of her other CD's. It always amazes me to find so many excellent artists that have not made it "big time," but I guarantee you will love this CD, and her other albums: "The Way We Live" & "Blue Earth."Her music is in the category of artists like Lori Carson, Carol Laula, Lucy Kaplansky, LorDar Williams, Beth Orton, a little less country-ish than the great Nanci Griffith. She also compares in some songs to Suzanne Vega, Shawn colvin, Julie Simon (only has mp3's so far, but is the niece of Carly), Eddie Reader, Jonathin Brooke, Tift Merritt, Cindy Alexander, Sarah Slean, a tamer Patty Griffin are some other good comparisons.Maria has a very strong, well trained velvety-smooth voice, and you can hear how much fun, and how easily she performs a nice variety of songs. This CD has excellent instrumentation, particularly her acoustic guitar. Very good quality CD."
