Does she have a bell in her throat or what?!
Basso Profondo | Texas | 10/08/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is the first of Ms. Price's albums that I've purchased, and thanks be to God I did! When one of my friends heard her voice they said "She sounds like a bell", and they were absolutely right. Her voice has the most beautiful, silver, "bell" like quality to it. This quality of her voice is most present in her rendition of "Vorrei, spiegarvi, o Dio", which absolutely melts my heart everytime I hear it. As far as sheer beauty of tone goes, she has few rivals. In this album, she gives us a diverse selection of Mozart's arias. She does everything from Mezzo arias to high lying coloratura arias. Althoug she's not a coloratura, she handles all the runs, jumps and trills quite superbly. Her trill, by the way, is particularly lovely. When I bought this, I didn't know if she would do the High E in "Vorrei, spiegarvi", but she does, and she does it without any trouble and still maintains a pretty tone.

I could wax eloquent about Ms. Price all day, but I'll leave you with this: If you want to hear the beautiful, elegant music of Mozart being brought to life by a voice of unparalleled beauty, then add this disc to your cart!"
Welcome re-issue

"This collection of Mozart Concert & Opera Arias is a welcome re-issue, not only for fans of the beloved Welsh soprano, but also for Mozart enthusiasts. When these recordings were made, Price was on the verge of a major international career and deservedly so. A fantastic recital disc, which is a must have."
A must have

"This album is worth the purchase price simply to hear Vorrei, spiegarvi, o Dio. After hearing Dame Margaret's version, there simply isn't another version which can come close."
