CD Reviews

Second gem of these two great artists

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This cd is the sequel of their live cd "La Libertad de Manzanero" and, as the 1st one, difficult to find in stores(no promotion from record label)but thanks to Amazon you could own it. Tania Libertad has recorded lots of albums for Polygram/Mexico, Polygram/Rodven ,Columbia/Mexico and for her own label Mulata Records that are available only in Mexico. Among them are: Tania y su sabrosa libertad(singing tropical songs), La vida en Parentesis(sings poems of Mario Benedetti),Razon de vivir, Boleros Hoy(with arrangements by Guitarrist Phil Manzanera and duets with Armando Manzanero, Miguel Bose, Azucar Moreno& Ivan Lins), etc. Let's hope the US branch of those record labels decide to release them in the states. For those who appreciate the best in latin music, albums like this are the best gift.It has everything required to be a classic: The best producer/arranger/composer in latin music(Manzanero), Tania Libertad, for years of the best interpreters of all genres of latin music and some of the best songs written by composers from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Argentina, etc."
It is an incredibly romantic CD! Beautiful!!!!!

"This CD is a love story created from the most romantic songs ever written! I could think of no one better to interpret them than Libertad and Manzanero! This CD is also very hard to find! My mother bought it somewhere- I can't remember where. She gets mad at me whenever I steal it from her and so began my search to find it. My search brought me to the center of the Hispanic community here in Miami- a record store filled with hard-to-find Hispanic music. The saleslady told me, "Oh! That CD? You will have to go to Mexico to find it!" I'm glad that I checked Amazon.com because I really cannot afford to go to Mexico. Not yet!!!!! -Janette"
