"Mantovani's signature song Charmaine hit the airwaves about 50 years ago and it is hitting the CD racks with a new introduction under the baton of Stanley Black. Koudos to the producers for bringing back the original Mantovani arrangements of soaring strings with some new introductions to remind us that these are newly recorded versions. The CD's newness does not compromise the Mantovani touch and we are pleased to hear recordings of songs heard only in Mantovani's sold out concerts of the fifties and sixties, such as the Heart of Tchaikovsky and Dance of the Comedians. It was also nice to hear Chaplin's Smile from Mantovani's Mr. Music album of 1966. It the London Records of Monty's discography won't be rereleased, it is nice to know that the current Orchestra will reach back and find the gems to be recorded on CD that will remain faithful to the Mantovani sound and arrangements that have not previously been recorded."
