"This self titled (copyright 1998) debut album is clear, crisp and bass heavy with fearless lyrics and more flat 5's than a blues recording.

You may ask what style of music this is. If you force me into labeling, I would say industrial progressive electronic. Europe meets California.

Many songs have the original recipe of a melodic verse and sour chorus. Some of the slower tracks have a slinky, punchy electro reggae bass feel to them. A trippy vibe that I have found appeals to listeners of all ages. I enjoyed playing this all over Thailand from small grass hut beach bars to big meat market dance clubs.

Who do they sound like? A synth-heavy, acoustic 311 who just got back from a '90s Underworld concert. Or maybe Berklee drop-outs who grew up listening to Pink floyd and Depeche Mode.

"The Mankind Liberation Front are the first unique band to emerge within the genre of Modern Rock. Actually, it is hard to define them as Modern Rock, or Rock, because you can taste the influences that they have that range from reggae, to breakbeat, to trance and techno. There is also a multitude of different songs. When Ran sings it is one kind of band, and the monotone drawl of the Austrian Heriwg Maurer is truly an original component to American music that we haven't had till now. Clearly, these guys are for real. And you can say you heard it here first, on this their debut. If I were you, and I am, cause I have.... Buy the CD."
