CD Reviews

Mango? Mango!!!!
Eduardo J. Bermudez | San Juan, PR USA | 09/20/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I couldn't possibly agree more with Gretchen, above, regarding the rewarding musical experience that keeps on growing after repeatedly listening to this CD. It is a carefully crafted work on which Mango's own compositions shine throughout, not only thanks to Mango's vocal abilities, but also because of the rest of the musicians. Standouts are Il Dicembre Degli Aranci, the traditional Neapolitan song I Te Vurriá Vasá and Ti Amo Cosí. The three of them show the kind of range only few singers can dream of archieving, but Mango seems to glide effortlessly through them. Get it. And... by the way... I've noticed Gretchen is from my country too. Maybe we should meet and start a fan club."
Excellent

"Every single track in this is different and exquisite. The musical arrangements are diverse, making each song a different experience. It is difficult to imagine how a musical production can remain consistently excellent, song after song. Ti Amo Cosí has inspired lyrics, a perfect blend of rock and romance and two of the most interesting tracks I have heard, both traditional songs in origin. Mango's voice is impossible to imagine until you listen to the varied range of which he is capable of gliding through, effortlessly. One must remain alert to the outstanding musical background (the electric guitar is in itself a joy to follow) just because Mango's voice is totally beguiling. This is one of those rare cd's that you like when you first listen to it and then you learn to enjoy even more as you listen to it again and discover its many dimensions."

"Just excellent, the entire work of this outstanding artist/singer should be more famous worldwide as he's been singing since 1976 ! Highly recommendable and very original musical writing plus incredible voice over all. And he sings in Italian, what a beautiful language ever more when it is sung."
