Album Description
The Earth Band captured live in Boston 1977. Longtime fans of Manfred Mann know that he has a great ear for great songs and quite often records definitive cover versions. Of the 5 covers on this set, 2 were composed by Bob Dylan, ("Father Of Day, Father Of Night" and "The Mighty Quinn", with which Mann hit No. 1 in the 60's), 3 Bruce Springsteen covers ("Blinded By The Light", "Spirit In The Night" and "For You") and finally a Robbie Robertson / John Simon song, "Davy's On The Road Again". The rest are Earth Band originals. This live recording was one of the last to feature bass player Colin Pattenden, who departed at tours end.
