"Diana Ross' "Every Day is a new Day" would have benefited from Malik more if this track were part of her progressive R and B set on her "Every Day is a new Day". Clearly, Malik knows that material is somewhat superior, and kept it for himself-a young artist with a chance. One digs the electronica of the opening and the haunting cyber wah-whas mixed in with the infectious, never imitated R and B riff. The message is loud and clear in this song due to the gloomy tone set by the interplay of this instrumentation. Brian McKnight, D'Angelo watch out! When does the album drop? Is Atlantic refusing to release it in view of the track's inability to make inroads at R&B radio as of yet? I need to hear a whole album!"

"very original and truly reminiscent of real music and true r&b. Charting this guys progress as a writer/producer for some time now,i was anxious to hear him as an artist! Well worth the wait,looking forward to the lp. i enjoyed when he wrote/produced,"lose my cool" for SWV,BUT he changed the game with "seven days" for MARY J BLIGE, AN ENORMOUS writing,production effort on his behalf once again! looking forward to the lp, signing off-jb in nc."
