Peter Dickinson, Hymns, Rags and Blues (1985); Karel Husa, Sonata a tre (1982); Don Freund, Triomusic (1980); James Niblock, Trio (1980). The Verdehrs have commissioned over 125 works by the most important composers in the world for the violin-clarinet-piano trio, thus effectively creating this medium. Complementing this repertoire, the Trio transcribes works from earlier periods. The Making of a Medium is a continuing project. The recordings have brought critical acclaim for the music and the Verdehr Trio.
