CD Reviews

Good, but not there best.

"Over the past three years I have been waiting for the new album to come out and when it finally did I was happy. But in a way it was kind of disappointing because there were only 13 tracks on the CD. Now if you are a true Macabre fan you should know that's not normal. Sinister Slaughter had 20 songs, Dahmer had 26, Gloom (Re-mastered) had 27, and Sinister Slaughter/Behind the Walls of Sleep CD had 25.
The music is still rockin and they still to this day jam out pretty hard. The drummer is bad *ss! And the lead singer is the craziest guy but very sociable at the same time.
If you want my true opinion the best release they ever had was an EP. The "UNABOMBER" EP that came out in 1998 on Decomposed Records. It only had 7 tracks but those seven songs were worth every penny.Macabre ~ 8 stars out of 10 starsOther stuff by Macabre:Grim Reality
Gloom
Sinister Slaughter
Unabomber
Dahmer

The best Macabre album

"I have been a Macabre fan since Gloom/Grim Reality. Macabre gets better with each album. In this one, they really sound like they have learned to play hard and heavy, and they are not just a sinister-speed-metal-hard-core band anymore. "Fritz Haarmann der Metzger" is the best sond yet! For Macabre fans, I recommend these new murders."
THIS IS ALBUM WILL GO ON MY TOP TEN LIST OF THE YEAR.

"Mainly because of the production. The lyircs are sorta subpar but the energy makes up for it.I like way the guitar on the first track kinda carrys the vibe of the last album (the intro). All in all without this producer (neil kernon) the band would of gone no where.Even though band has come out with pretty amusing stuff without this producer but on this album you can understand everything the guy saying in the past you couldn't really understand anything. The crystal clear sound is what crabs your attention firstand in the past they have had subpar production which wont take bands anywhere(just listen to their 2nd album "GLOOM"and you will understand). In past their their records have had at least thirty songs on them.On the new one it only has thirteen.Which means that that they paid more attention to each song.On the last record (dahmer) it had several different styles from rock to death metal to jazz to willy wonka and the chocolate factory theme song.On the new one its more straight foward grindcore deathmetal with nursery rhymes. On this one I think they really wanted to be taken seriously but still have the humor in it.I could go on forever but I'LL end with this "I really enjoyed this record and I hope you do to"."
