The follow-up to his critically acclaimed Focus Point (RKM 2004), Luis Perdomo's second release as a leader is a knockout. Luis is adored by the jazz press, and highly visible on the jazz scene thanks to ongoing tours with Ravi Coltrane and Miguel Zenón and his own dates as a leader. "Awareness" fulfills Perdomo's long held desire to concentrate his powerful playing into the trio format. Ably assisted by Hans Glawischnig on bass and Eric McPherson on drums, Luis's rich playing broadens our idea of the trio.
