A fine compilation of the great Satchmo. If you lean to early horn heavy, ensemble very good stuff. Check the listings and you find some saucy covers of Fats Waller and others ....if I may quote " OOOOOOHH YEAHHHH"

Louis Armstrong's RCA Sides Never Sounded So Good!
Johnny Boy | Hockessin, DE | 02/26/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Louis Armstrong is a jazz legend. Here are 12 of his best-liked 1930s and 1940s recordings he made for the RCA label. The sound quality is excellent and you get 12 mighty fine recordings.

'Snafu,' 'Sugar,' 'That's My Home,' and one of my personal favorites, 'Ain't Misbehavin'' all make appearances on this record. True Louis fans will want to buy more Armstrong after this, and they may want to invest their hard earned dollar into his early Columbia and latter-day Decca and MCA recordings.

However, if you are on a budget, and you want a nice, simple, quick retrospective of some Louis' finest for the label, this will fill the bill perfectly.

If you want a more complete summary of his better known RCA recordings, I advise 'Greatest Hits' and 'More Greatest Hits' from the RCA series simply called 'Greatest Hits.' The sound quality is excellent on that one as well. And, similar to this, both are intended for jazz fans on a budget.

This is recommended for the budget-minded Louis fan. ENJOY!!!"
