"I bought this CD not quite knowing what it was.
What it turns out to be is a re-make of "Song to
the Siren", featured on This Mortal Coil's mid-80s
proto-goth album, "It'll End in Tears".I should note that "Song to the Siren" had been
remade in a *very* similar fashion by Vengeance
(with Clare Pearce) last year. It's quite ironic,
because after hearing the Vengeance version of
this song (and positively falling in love with it),
I thought that it was very reminiscent of the
style and sound of Lost Witness (whom I also adore).I like Lost Witness's version of this song, however,
I do note that they fell short of singing *all* of its
lyrics. Why, I must wonder.Still, the beat and the arrangement are beautiful,
and fans of trance will like it. And, considering that
we can't seem to find the Vengeance/Pearce version of this
song on CD single, the Lost Witness version is currently
the only way to get a dance version of it (unmixed)."
