I can admit it, this ROCKS!

"I know that I should be mocking the hell out of Lost Horizon. Their over the top, metal warrior battle music makes Manowar and Hammerfall seem tame by comparison, and the names these guys gave themselves - Etherial Magnanimus, Equilibrian Epicurius, Cosmic Antagonist, Perspicacious Protector, and Preternatural Transmogrifier - are as out there as they are senseless. These guys should be the laughing stock of metal, and definitely should not be part of my CD collection.

But God help me, I think they're awesome.

Lost Horizon is just so...METAL! Once you hear the band's all-out blistering Swedish power metal assault, you can't help but give credit where credit is due. This is not some bunch of goof-offs playing up a gimmick - Lost Horizon is an extremely talented, extremely aggressive power metal band. Cheesy lyrics and stage names aside, listening to Awakening the World makes you want to track down bands like Stratovarius and yell "Listen to this! Why don't you guys rock this hard? You're supposed to be a METAL band, remember?"

This is what power metal is supposed to sound like. You can try to dismiss them as silly. You can try to claim intellectual superiority with your Spiral Architect and Pain of Salvation CDs, but once Lost Horizon's music reaches your ears you'll know all hope is lost and you'll be raising your fist for metal like the rest of us.

But don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
