CD Reviews

Excelente...
Rodrigo Sierpe | Punta Arenas, Chile | 03/20/2003

"...you should get it IMMEDIATELY.This live unplugged album is just one of the very best in my collection. Los Tres (a Chilean band that's broken up by now) deliver bluesy live performances of songs from their first three albums (which are also almost impossible to get, at least in the US). These live performances are, in my opinion, far superior to the studio versions. Relaxed and mellow, but very spontaneous and inventive. The one weak track is "La Espada & La Pared"-- the live arrangement is somewhat monotonous."
One of the best album in their genre...(rock-pop-folklore?)

"Before this album I don't remember Los Tres been a great band (not with latinamerican recognition at least)here, they were more like a band with great lyrics in strange songs with some ocational radio hits from time to time. With this album they brought all those great lyrics and adjusted their rythms to make them sound like an harmonious journey troughout their career, but in that exquisite sound that makes them great live performers.

After this album they never brought anything similar (I guess any album after this best-of would have many expectations putted on it), and they realease some other album like La Yein Fonda, wich it's pretty much about chilean folklore; later they split up, and each member took their own way (that bass and guitar sounds can be still found in Angel Parra Trio band).

So, I don't think anyone would regret buying this album. It's a great record, either 'cause of the sound or the lyrics. I didn't pay US$50 here, but if I were in the states I will buy it without hesitation."
