"Lorrie Morgan has one of the most distinct voices in country music. She can sing anything, a heartfelt ballad, a kick up your shoes and dance song, or whatever. The Essential series runs among many artists, who belong to the RCA recording group. The problem that runs in many cases is the artist has too many hits, and there is not enough space so only certain songs make the collection. This is the case with The Essential Lorrie Morgan, it is a great collection of some of her songs, but where are the others? There certainly is plenty of room for more material. However, not to say this album is useless, it has some of her hits. I suggest this to fans of Morgan, or people who are interested in trying new music."
A so-so collection by a tremendous talent.

"BNA released this CD, not as a greatest hits, but as a collection of essential hits and would-be hits. It contains memorable classics like "Dear Me" and "If You Came Back From Heaven," a few album cuts ("Gonna Leave The Light On" "Autumn's Not That Cold"), and a pair of new unreleased recordings. Also present on the disc are two duets with George Morgan; one was recorded when Lorrie was a teen and one had the two vocals electronically joined. The one song I would have liked to see included on the CD is "Faithfully," from the "Something In Red" CD. Overall, the CD is pretty good!"
Great Collection With a Couple of Unique Tracks

"A nice collection from Ms. Morgan that includes some tracks I haven't seen anywhere else. One song unique to this CD is "I'd Even Move from Venus" which is one of my favorites from this artist."
