Synopsis

Album Description
Introducing Lori Carsillo, a San Francisco vocalist with a distinctively intimate style. Lori?s debut album, Bittersweet, is a collection of standards and lesser-known jazz tunes that create a vibe both noir and haunting, bright and transcending. The band features a number of the finest Bay Area musicians ? Dave Mac Nab on guitar, John Shifflett on bass, Jason Lewis on drums & percussion, and keyboardist Michael Bluestein, with Eric Crystal on saxophone, Robin Bonnell on cello and Robby Virus on theremin. With unique arrangements and unexpected surprises, Bittersweet draws you into strangely familiar places, touching something put aside and almost forgotten.

"Lori Carsillo is a "Find" and this album is a "gem." If you're not sure, download the free MP3s, that's how I discovered her talent. Then I ordered the CD and was totally blown away. She rivals Diana Krall with voice and style. I sure hope she puts out another CD."
Bittersweet is really "sweet!"

"Lori's debut album shows a real appreciation for classic jazz vocal. If you love Cole Porter, Antonio C. Jobim, and Hoagy Charmichael, this CD will be candy for your ears. She's got another good one out, it's titled "Lori Carsillo.. Cole Porter...Old Love,New Love,True Love" highly recommend!"
