"Lolita No. 18 lasted 16 years and sadly broke up in 2003. They were the best Japanese hardcore punk band ever. Their covers of "Dig That Groove Baby" and "Video Killed The Radio Star" are way better than the originals. It takes a while to get used to the singer, Masayo Ishizaka's quirky voice - she actually learned to roll her R's because she whorships John Lydon. The guitar player Enazo, Bassist Kim*Rin and drummer Aya are all very competent, more so than most western hardcore bands. If you like Shonen Knife but wish they stuck to punk this band is for you."
