"This fairly unknown and very uncommon score album is in fact a treasure in the ever growing heap of soundtracks!
Having heard hundreds of scores this one is a true stayer! Loek Dikker uses all of the orchestra and made a very powerful and dramatic score. There is a very dramatic main motif, a sad and beautiful main theme and of course an agressive and jerky motif for the... BODY PARTS! Goodness no! Oh yes. The singing saw makes this score even more powerful and does NOT reduce it to a silly piece of film music extravaganza.Besides these returning themes and motifs, the "underscoring" is of a very entertaining and professional kind. No boring tracks, all of them bear quality for sure.This typical eighties gem is a wonderful score, certainly worthy to be standing next to one of my own all time favourites: Howard Shore's The Fly!!!In conclusion: a very higly recommended, lushly orchestrated, at times sweepingly romantic score!!! Do not buy this if you do not appreciate film music on its own."
