"It truly amazes me that Windham Hill has stopped issuing this incredible album.Liz Story's solo piano opus is a true thing of beauty.Surely one of the best piano records ever made.If you like George Winston or Vince Guaraldi you Must hear this record."

"I must wholeheartedly concur with the other reviewer who cannot fathom why Windham Hill has stopped releasing this album. I'm on my second copy (first copy destroyed in a horrible break dancing accident) and although it has been at least 4 years between sessions the album is just as magical as it was when I first listened to it in 1990 as a freshman in college. At times seriously moving and at other times joyful and playful, Escape runs the gamut of emotions and is a remarkable piece of piano work second only to George Winston's "December" in my extensive solo piano catalog. I've always felt that the term "new age" denegrates the fine work of many artists by associating their work with airy, whimsical flights of fancy that offer the substance of cotton candy. There is real gravitas to Liz's work, and having had the chance to see her play live at Wittenberg University in 1990 and 1991, it it not by accident, studio trick or artifice. The only complaint I've ever had with this album is the absolutely God-awful jacket Liz is wearing on the inside cover- it looks like like something Joan Miro puked up after an all night tequilla bender. But fashion disaster aside, this is a work that you should have in your collection."
