"The first time I heard Liz Meyer perform live was in the early '70s at a park In Washington D.C. where along with Emmylou Harris she was the reigning queen of local musicians in a town with a large and talented local music scene. I was immediately blown away by her deep and unusual voice and became a huge fan, catching her act whenever and wherever I could. I moved to another part of the country and couldn't get any information about Liz Meyer, and I only had an old unauthorized vinyl record and a bootleg cassette of her music. Turns out Liz Meyer moved to Europe and tours there extensively with only limited appearances in the U.S. now. Imagine my surprise to find this little gem, Womanly Arts. The supporting musicians reads like a who's who of country and bluegrass music including Emmylou Harris, Bela Fleck, Jonathan Edwards and numerous others. The album kicks off with "Two Timer" a fast beat song to really get you in the mood. Other standouts are Dreams Have Endings, Gone, Close The Door Lightly, and Nothing To Lose. Liz Meyer is a rare talent, an original. Don't be the last to find out, order this cd."
