CD Reviews

CONGRATULATIONS On 50 YEARS!!!
Michael W. Beland | Chicago, IL | 08/16/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"What a GREAT album to commemorate 50 years of the music of Little Anthony & The Imperials. I'm a HUGE fan and the modernized R&B take on the classics are GREAT! The only thing missing is Tears On My Pillow, but then again, there are just some classics that you don't touch and that's definitely one of them. Great music like this just isn't made any more and most artists nowadays can only hope their name will be remembered let alone be around to commemorate 50 years of being in the music industry. GREAT job Little Anthony & The Imperials & CONGRATULATIONS again on 50 years!!! Thanks for keeping your music alive!"
Spectacular, As Well As Timeless Music

"I am just now completing my first full listen of You'll Never Know by Little Anthony and the Imperials. We really need more music like this. I would swear that Little Anthony sounds better than ever, and he's been belting out songs for half a century now. The group's timeless classics combined with the new uptempo tunes and heartfelt ballads make for a most enjoyable listening experience. This is quality music, for the discerning ear. I truly hope Little Anthony and the Imperials stick around on the music scene and record more music in this vein. This music is truly a valuable contribution to the pop music idiom."
Nothing Little About These All Time Greats

"If you're bothering to read this review, you probably know that in a just world Bruce Springsteen would be hawking peanuts at Little Anthony & The Imperials concert. Simply, they've never lost it!

This CD is a very appropriate modernization of their classic style, and any recut hits respect the original versions without simply aping them.

You love hearing new sounds from old favorites? This is for you. You love smooth,soulful/jazzy r&b(what they used to call Quiet Storm)? Ditto! You want to see one of the all time great vocal acts?? Go see the group next time they're around.

And know,Hallelujia, for once, the Rock and Roll Hall of fame got it right!
