This debut album for Lisa Haley and the Zydekats charms us with spicy original tunes about the Big Dance, Cajun food and romance. Her high-gear violin playing and Cornbread vocals will raise up your soul! The CD also offers 20th Century versions of favorite traditional Cajun songs taught by Lisa's adopted father Joe Simien, himself a Cajun accordion legend from Lawtelle, Louisiana. Family roots show through in her Southern fiddle sensibilities. Lisa includes an instrumental ode to the fact that there is not yet a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for King of Zydeco Clifton Chenier. While Lisa was touring with Queen Ida, Clifton once gave her the quinessential Creole compliment: That girl plays as good as a man! The album ends with the perfect finishing touch, Until the Sun.

"Lisa and the 'Kats---Thank you so much for your promptness on sending my tape. Dan Willging (record reviewer) was right.I love it. "Lisa Haley and the ZydeKats" is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took it to the gym yesterday -just fresh out of my mailbox.I was rockin' out on the treadmill and lost track of time.I've lost 50 lbs in the last year. The secret is this: I listen only to zydeco while I work out. It gets me movin' and groovin'. When my daughter heard "U R My Sunshine" her eyes got big and she smiled.I've sung this song to her since she was just hours old. Anyway,she turned to me and said,"Mom,how come you never told me that this was a CAJUN song"? Thanks for all the hours of listening pleasure.Love you guys!!!! Dawn "Dancin' On The Tables" D."
