"Lisa Dalbello released her first album of dance styled pop songs, 'Lisa Dal Bello', in 1977 which won her a Most Promising Female Vocalist Juno. The music on this album is full of the atmosphere of those late 1970ties when funk and soul were becoming mainstream and white artists started mixing those musical styles into something of their own.
This album with both ballads and funky pop songs, most of them written by Lisa Dal Bello herself, features Dal Bello as a very strong and versatile singer/songwriter and is a guaranteed good listening experience. Or as Lisa herself puts it in the liner notes: "Put on your highest of highest platform shoes, shake your funky thang and get down to some funky beats..."This album also features all those artist that would become much sought after session musicians later on but at this point were just starting off their professional musical career:
