CD Reviews

A warm, captivating voice!

"Linda has a long career as an actress, but is only recently being given attention for her incredibly warm, exciting singing voice!! Rex Reed wrote what amounts to a love letter in his review of her latest cabaret performances, and this long-awaited CD gives ample proof to a wider audience what all the hubbub's about! Her versions of songs from the 60s - HOLD ME, THRILL ME, KISS ME - THIS GIRL'S IN LOVE WITH YOU - and her compelling versions of songs from the 30s, 40s and 50s - are breathtaking! This woman can ACT as well as SING a song, and it shows!! The producers/engineers chose a rather harsh-sounding microphone for her vocals, but no matter - any recording by Linda Purl is going to be great, regardless - she's a class act - and her musical gifts are not to be denied!"
Awesome!

"I have been a fan of Linda Purl since I first saw her in the movie "Women at West Point" back in College. Fortunately, I stumbled across her website and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered she was also a singer. Curious, I purchased Alone Together and quite frankly was stunned by how good this CD really is. I may not be as culturally astute as Rex Reed, but when he described it as "enchanting"...he was right. My only question, is when is her next release?"
A major discovery

"What a surprise! The TV actress turns out to be a terrific, sultry singer who offers up a collection of classic romantic tunes with strong instrumentation. This is simply a delightful album, hopefully the first of many to follow."
