CD Reviews

Dark, strange, beautiful
Allan MacInnis | Vancouver | 04/16/2001

"This is a really rich and rewarding bit of electronica -- of what I think they're calling the "illbient" variety. DJ Olive, who has recorded with We and also is featured on SYR 5 with Kim Gordon and Ikue Mori, seems to be the main force here. He's as interesting as Paul D. ("call me Spooky") Miller is, maybe moreso -- there are some really deep, wild sounds here. Not just electronica and sampling, either - there's a guitarist (Danny Blume, who I gather is working now, somewhat incongruously, with John Scofield) and a percussionist named "Loop." (I dunno Loop). Soundscapes for augmented ears -- cool stuff."
Exciting, inovative, fun

"I saw this performed in NYC with the movie. It was one of the most fun and engrossing music experiences I have had in years! I bought the album and it stands alone as well. They are interesting and talented musicians"
