The three songs featured on We Never Came, Lila Nelsons fifth release, are like the three sirens of Greek Mythology, Thelxiepeia (she who seduces with her speech), Aglaophonos (she with the wonderful voice), and Himerope (she who arouses longing with her singing), who lured mariners to crash their ships into sea stacks. They enchant, invite, and seduce. The title track, We Never Came is bold in lyric and vulnerable in delivery with a bed of beats and bass unlike anything Nelson has released to date.
