"The tracks on this just Rip. Why don't we get bands like this anymore I ask? I like Legend they are a cool garage band, their music is probably more important than ever, song for a soldier, anthrax attack and Hiroshima expecially. Scary how these issues are more prevailent on the news now than 20 years ago. Perhaps the song writing was ahead of it's time maybe?"

"Finally the cult favorite NWOBHM band Legend gets the attention they deserve. This package includes all of their stuff: the first s/t album, Death In the Nursery, Frontline EP, and some unreleased demos from what was to be their next album. The linear notes include lyrics (for everything but the demos), pictures, and band history.Legend-S/T (1st 7 songs disc 1) 5 Star album without a doubt, my favorite from the band. Definately derived from Black Sabbath, but they are far from rip-offs. Actually the base sound is the only thing that resembles Sabbath. Great songwriting, guitars, and vocals. Highlights all, but specifically Torture, Hiroshima, and Song For a Solider.Death In the Nursery (1st 9 songs disc 2) Again a 5 star album. Not as dreary or Sabbath influenced as the first album, but still very good. The sound here is a bit more more polished and accesible, but still remains heavy. Highlights: Choices, Prisoner, Death In the Nursery, and Prologue.Frontline (Songs 8-11 on disc 1) 4 star EP. Only contains 4 songs, but all are very good. The hard rocking Stormers of Heaven and Frontline are highlights as is the haunting Sabra & Chatila. The sound continues to get more accesible perhaps due to the band trying to land a record deal.The demos (songs 10-15 disc 2) 3 stars. These songs were recorded for what was going to be the next Legend album, but it never saw the light of day. They are my least favorite tracks on the album due to their "poppy" sound. Well not exactly poppy but you get the drift. Highlights: Questions and Answers and Catch A Moment.Fans of the NWOBHM should pick this up if they want to hear one of the most original and underrated bands of the time. Act now because I have the feeling (just a hunch) that this won't be around forever. Although I could be wrong."

"Despite its serious low-fi production, this album really does hint of what could have been. An historic selection of variations in the field of heavy metal which display all the meaningful aspects of good music. Incredible vocals, seriously stunning guitar work, melodies that spring from nothing and lyrics that are inspired. If the ears can bypass the expected then enjoy the art."

"I've listened to a lot of rock and was passed this band's 'Still Screaming' album only recently and was totally blown away, purely because this band is writing solely what it feels. Not every track on this CD is my cup of tea but tracks like Bad Girl, Why don't you kill me, Hiroshima, Song for a Soldier and Torture are true masterpieces. The vocalist is different, but the guitar playing for 1981 is out of this world. The Wangy-bar play especially is unbelievable. The guitar player who I had never heard of seems to have an experimental edge similar to Alan Holdsworth."
