Product Description Chicago's Lee DeWyze performs for over 30 million people each week on the most popular television show in the world, American Idol. Before Lee came to the attention of the hit-making franchise, he was a struggling musician working with a small Chicago label called Wuli Records, where he recorded his debut album, "So I'm Told" and the recently released "Slumberland" with producers Ryan McGuire and guitarist extraordinaire, Louis Svitek, well known for his work with Ministry, M.O.D., and Mind Funk. The collaboration is an evocative, haunting mix of multi-instrumental, multi-faceted songs whose artistry draws comparisons to Jack Johnson and Chris Martin. Now a Top Finalist, Lee is being hailed as the next daughtry, with praise from all the judges; Kara DioGuardi declared Lee's voice was a good fit for "radio right now", Ellen DeGeneres has called his performances "great", and the hard to please Simon Cowell has declared that Lee was "the best singer" among the group of men and "may be the one to beat." ChicagoGirl | Chicago | 05/27/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I read a lot of feedback before deciding to purchase Slumberland, but having enjoyed Lee's voice on AI, I began downloading one song at a time. Well, I ended up purchasing it because the songs are amazing! My favorites are Princess, Where You Lie, Flower Child, Stay, Annabelle and Another Sleep Song. Sweet Sweet is a little too country for my taste, but it's many peoples favorite and it is very catchy. I love Lee's voice and his indescribable style mix of Celtic, Folk, Emo, Rock, Blues...you just have to hear it to understand. Not like the pop songs he sings on AI, Lee is an original with a distinct style, and his songwriting skills show a lot of promise. This young man has a great and lasting musical future ahead of him and he deserves all his success." My Current Favorite B. He also played the guitar, keyboards, piano, bass and helped with the programming according to the CD insert. Don't knock him because he was on idol, it's just a platform for him to use for his future. Also, the last time I checked he wasn't Daughtry, nor did he ever set out to actually BE Chris Daughtry. There is no comparison, they don't even have the same styles of music. Anyway, give the disc a chance, you will not be disappointed, I promise!"
